Did a crankshaft project for a customer, running a 0.75 diameter insert mill, milling the rod journals of cast crankshafts on a 7 axis turn / mill using X C Y and Z.  Good stuff.  I wish i had more of these projects.

I wish I have read about this discussion earlier. I had a crankshaft problem just last month and I am not pretty sure what to do. I thought that the best thing to do is to take it to the professional, it turned out I was overpriced. He said it is difficult to do x c y z milling. lol
