Just wondering with the current members, how many Fanuc users, Okuma users and any others?

My background for controls are:
Fanuc, Yasnac, Haas, & Mazak (EIA G-code, not Mazatrol)
I have had luck programming Fanuc variable macros using IF, THEN statements and simple trig and algebra equations with it, but I haven't been in a situation yet to use the Custom Macro B platform. I guess that's what you call it with the whole aux. G-Codes and variable designations.

Are the Haas variables like the Fanuc with the # sign?
The Okuma is V on the lathe and VC on the mills for the common variables, the Okuma system variables (VZOFZ etc) and the ocal variable which you create the name / address.
Thanks

Yep, Haas variable Macros are like Fanuc's with the "#".
I guess they have other macros actual letters and stuff for designation, but I think that is a different set of macro programming.

I have a Maier swiss, and there are 9000's series macros ( as i was told ) that are fired by G/M code ( like the Okuma's ) that are for cut off and bar feed and a fe other functions. Something like that?

The shop I worked at in the cities before moving had a swiss department and all the the guys back there used macros. It was a whole different world then my variable macros I play around with on the mills. I couldn't understand anything about them.
They used to argue about how each other used them. It was quite funny how a part could be running and someone just didn't like the code so they would change the program between shifts. At one point I had to say from time to time just to leave it alone. They never ran faster, just the classical pissing contest.
Those haas probes use some sort of 9000's programs tied into special G-Codes. Basically use the Haas Quick code in the control to program them and spit the code out into the program and splice it all together. It's nice for setting up jobs that vary a bit.
I have been able to tie the probe into my offset finder program. So the probe picks up the part at A0 and then I call up the Coordiante Variables in the offset finder program to figure out the different angles of rotation on our horizontals. It's nice to only have to pick up one set of numbers when machining multiple sides/faces.
